Key EthnoHub Features
Gather dataData can be both self-reported by participants and entered by field researchers. Watch the streams of data, as they flow in. You can capture text and photos, over a number of weeks, months, or longer. Code and sort data in your virtual project roomTag the data, extract clues as you notice them, add comments in clues. Make sense of it allYour research analysts find patterns in data and clues, and capture these patterns as findings. Easily trace each finding back to clues and data —findings can refer to one or more clues, which can refer to one or more pieces of data. Invite clientsYour EthnoHub projects are secure and private. If you choose, invite your clients to view data, clues, and findings in the project room; and let them share comments with your researchers. Manage project structure and stakeholdersLet globally distributed teams flourish. Bring in participants, field researchers, analysts, and clients as you wish and need. Preserve your project archives onlineWithout limit. So you can always refer to and search through past data, clues, and findings. |
Do I have to sign a long-term contract? Can I cancel at any time? Is there a free trial? Is there a setup fee? Are there per-user or per-project fees? Is storage limited? Any questions before signing up? |
What types of payment do you accept? We only accept payment online. We are not able to accept a purchase order, invoice you, or take an order over the phone. Is the research data safe and secure? What web browsers work with EthnoHub? What are the rules of the house? |
Who are the people?
Invite various people to your own EthnoHub projects, as you decide. Participants receive prompts and send their material (text, photo, ...) to your research server. Researchers monitor participant data as it arrives, and may also feed their own observation data in. Researchers code and sort the data. Clients can be invited to view the data and share in the analysis. For example, a project could have 4 researchers, 20 participants, and 5 clients.
Our price includes an unlimited number of people. The price doesn't change whether you have five, twenty, hundreds, or more.
What are projects?
Each research project may have a number of participants. Your researchers work with the participants to gather their data in the project data stream. Researchers also enter debrief notes; code and sort the data; capture clues from the data; and enter findings connected to the clues. Researchers and their clients discuss the clues and findings to contribute to the analysis process.
Run as many projects as you need. Your EthnoHub site doesn't sport arbitrary limitations. Our price is firm, regardless of the intensity of your business.
What's in a prompt?
A participant prompt can be a question or a task, scheduled or immediate. To keep project participants actively engaged, researchers send prompts across the communication channels of their choice.
Don't worry about having lots of questions, tasks, or other participant interactions. Our price is firm, regardless of the intensity of your projects.
Why keep archives?
When a project is complete, you should archive it, thus keeping it online and searchable. Researchers can connect across projects and time, digging up interesting data, photos, or clues from previous projects, previous years, your own research history.
Don't let past work go the way of the dodo. Re-visit past research with a fresh perspective, or use it to inform your current work.
What's the storage for?
Storage allows participants and researchers to upload images and other media files to projects in your EthnoHub account. A large initial cloud storage is included in your account.
Use as much storage as you need, nobody here would want to stop you. If –over time– your usage grows above the included plan allowance, a metered fee per extra GB is automatically added to your monthly billing.
